Lots of new faces and qualifying dogs at the field test. A very busy day with little chance to socialize. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Here are some of the picture highlights from the latest field test.

Fabulous times at the German Shorthaired Pointer Field Club of Alberta Fall Field Trial. Congratulations to all participants!
A dog lover’s paradise, the Westwind’s Dog Show was held at Spruce Meadows near Calgary. A great demonstration of beautiful dogs.
Trips to Kananaskis in June can sometimes be too early for mother nature. I’ve managed to suffer from hot spells that make staying in hotels unbearable because they never bothered to install air conditioning. In other years, I’ve managed to only get in 5 holes at the golf course before being asked to leave because the snow was so deep it was no longer possible to find your golf ball. This year was a great summer of “not too cold, not too hot”.
Visiting Fort Walsh Historic Site this week, we were fortunate enough to have a guided tour of the site, along with a demonstration of some of the canons and firearms that the RCMP used to defend the camp against threats from Native Americans. What a hard life these people had.
Our trip to the west coast for Salmon fishing this year was a great adventure. I managed to catch my biggest Salmon yet (31 lbs), along with 2 halibut and a sea lion. Damn sea lions wouldn’t leave our bait alone this year. A lesson for everyone, don’t bark back at the biggest sea lion on the rock. It pisses him off!
When your dog wins a big blue ribbon, there’s nothing better than sharing a belly rub reward!
